TWRP custom recovery for Samsung galaxy note 8 is available for download. This Galaxy Note 8 TWRP custom recovery is required to flash custom ROMs and all other sorts of hacks that are required to make system-level changes on your new Note 8 smartphone. 5. Download a .tar image of TWRP.
6. Reboot your device to download mode.
– Hold [VOLUME DOWN] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] for approx. 15 seconds.
– Read the warning carefully.
– If you agree, press [VOLUME UP] to get into Download mode. If you don’t agree, STOP.
7. Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot.
8. Connect your phone.
9. Hold [VOLUME UP] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] on your phone and then press start on Odin.

Android 7 Nougat is available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 / N8013 2012 model. This is the latest version of android and it is great to see such old tablet running it just fine. This is brought to you by the Lineage OS team that designed it to increase performance and reliability over stock android. However, since the android 7 nougat is still in alpha stage, do not install it if you want a stable ROM.

So how to install this ROM on your tablet?

First make sure you have CWM recovery or N8000 TWRP installed on your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Then, download the ROM from here and gapps; wipe everything; put the ROM on micro SD card and install the ROM. Make sure to flash gapps immediately after installing the ROM. Do not reboot before installing gapps.

So what is not working. The stock camera application isn’t working but if you install Google Camera from playstore, you should not have any problems. Cursor is by default shown when S-pen is in use. You can easily disable it by going into Settings > Inputs. Also, keyboard does not work: enable hardware keyboard in settings. SElinux is set to permissive.

Galaxy Note 4 Verizon root

Here are the list of files that you will require to let you root the Verizon Note 4:

ADB – minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.3.1_setup.exe
Odin – Odin3 v3.09.exe & Odin3.ini
Samsung Mobile Phone Drivers (Windows Only) – SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe
TWRP – twrp-3.0.2-0-trltevzw.tar.md5
SuperSU – BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip
Bootloader Unlock – samsung_unlock_n4-fix
Kingroot (Temporary Root App) – NewKingrootV4.85_C139_B255_en_release_2016_03_29_1 05203.apk

Download them from this Google drive link – Do not leave anything as you will need them all.

You will need these devices:

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Verizon updated to 5.1.1 (BPA1)
PC with Windows
Micro USB Cable
MicroSD Card
MicroSD Card Reader/USB Adapter (To Format MicroSD Card)

Here are the steps on how to root Verizon Note 4.

Step 1

First, you will need to install the USB drivers. So install them using SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe.

Step 2

Disable encryption on your phone and micro SD card. Then, factory reset your Verizon Galaxy Note 4.

Step 3

Now, we must prepare our Galaxy Note 4 Verizon edition for rooting. Do the following.

Settings > Security > Reactivation Lock | Disabled
Settings > Security > Unknown sources | Enabled

Go to Settings > about and tap on build 5-6 times to enable developer options. This will make developer options appear on your phone.
Settings > Developer Options > USB debugging | Enabled
Settings > Developer Options > Verify app via USB | Enabled
Move the file NewKingrootV4.85_C139_B255_en_release_2016_03_29_1 05203.apk included with this guide to your phone’s download folder. When plugged in with a usb cable to your computer it’s usually located at “SAMSUNG-SM-N910V\Phone\Download”.

Step 4

Install adb on your computer using minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.3.1_setup.exe. Make sure it installs to C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot.

Now copy samsung_unlock_n4-fix and BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip to the “Minimal ADB and Fastboot” folder.

Connect your Verizon Galaxy Note 4 to the computer and fire up command prompt in the “Minimal ADB and Fastboot” folder (right click while holding shift key will give you option to open command prompt in the folder).

Step 5

Type in this command.

adb devices

If some numbers shows up, your phone is detected. Now type in this. Make sure your phone is not locked or screen is off when you type this, otherwise you will get an error.

adb push samsung_unlock_n4-fix /data/local/tmp/

Step 6

In your phone, go to My Files > Device storage > Download > NewKingrootV4.85_C139_B255_en_release_2016_03_29_1 05203.apk to install Kingroot. After it installs click close, not open. Close all running apps.

Open Kingroot on your phone > scroll down and and click the button to start temp root. You should now get root access in 1-2 minutes. If not, you will have to redoo the process from Step 4.

This gives you temporary root on your Verizon Note 4 and this can crash your phone too. If any app asks you for root access, click yes.

To check your root status, download this app from play store and try it yourself. It is free.

If it says you are rooted, type in this in the command prompt on your computer.

adb shell
su
cd /data/local/tmp/
chmod 777 samsung_unlock_n4-fix
chown root.root samsung_unlock_n4-fix
./samsung_unlock_n4-fix

This will reboot your Verizon Note 4. Don’t do anything. Remove the battery of your phone and unplug the USB cable.

After 10 seconds, put the battery back in and turn the phone on. Connect your phone again and type in these commands again.

adb shell
su
cd /data/local/tmp/
chmod 777 samsung_unlock_n4-fix
chown root.root samsung_unlock_n4-fix
./samsung_unlock_n4-fix

Step 7

Install Super Sume Pro from play store. It costs about $3 and you will need it to complete root process. Open Super-Sume Pro, click the home button, and open Kingroot. In Kingroot apply temp root. Click the multi tasking button and switch over to Super-Sume Pro. When it asks for Root grant it. Click the big blue button and follow the instructions. It may take a minute or two. Shut the phone down after it’s done.

Step 8

Now we will be flashing a ROM that gives you root access but before that we need TWRP, a custom recovery that let us do that.

For that, we will go into download mode of the phone by pressing and holding volume down + power + home. If screens says “Downloading”, we are ready to go.

Fire up Odin3 v3.09.exe > click AP > browse for twrp-3.0.2-0-trltevzw.tar.md5 and click Start. It will reboot and gives you a black screen. Hold volume up + power + home to enter TWRP. Do this fast.

Step 9

In TWRP, click Advanced and then ADB Sideload. Swipe to start adb. Make sure your phone says sideload now.

Type this on the computer.

adb sideload BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip

You may need to re-enter ADB Sideload. Type this in.

adb sideload Emotion-TW-5.1.1-nightly-r21-RC1-SM-N910P.zip

That is it – this will install a custom ROM on your phone and give you permanent root access on your Galaxy Note 4 Verizon edition.

note 9 vanilla rom

This is vanilla ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 smartphone. If you despise Samsung’s user interface and prefer the plain Google Android experience, install this AICP ROM that does not come with proprietary software that Samsung includes in its smartphones.

Everything is working except for power off issue where if you switch off your phone completely, it won’t boot again. Don’t fret though as you can go into Note 9 TWRP and then reboot the system from there to get back in.

Other than that, everything is working in this ROM including dual speakers, home button and MTP.

How to install this vanila ROM on your Galaxy Note 9?

* Make sure Galaxy Note 9 TWRP has been installed and functional.
* Download the latest build from here.
* Reboot to recovery
* Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs). Even better if you have nothing to loose and wipe system, data, cache, storage etc
* Flash the latest build (and gapps). GAPPS ARE NOT INCLUDED use opengapps 8.1.
* Reboot and enjoy

Note 9 TWRP Recovery

Galaxy Note 9 runs Android and that is the best part about it – you can install custom ROMs and all sort of hacks on to it. Unfortunately, to install these custom firmwares, you will need custom recovery like TWRP on Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

Keep in mind that this will trip the knox counter and this will tell Samsung you have done modifications on your device and warranty will be voided.

These instructions work for both snapdragon and exynos versions of Note 9.

Exynos Note 9 TWRP installation instructions.

1. In your ROM, go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
2. Go to Settings -> Developer options and enable OEM Unlock option.
3. Download and Install Samsung Mobile Phones Drivers.
– Option 1: Download and Install Smart Switch for PC.
– Option 2: Download and Install standalone driver package.
4. Download and extract Odin (Samsung’s Flash Tool) to your computer.
5. Download a .tar image of TWRP.
6. Reboot your device to download mode.
– Shutdown your Note 9
– Hold [VOLUME DOWN] + [BIXBY] and connect usb cable (make sure usb is connected to the pc!)
– Read the warning carefully.
– If you agree, press [VOLUME UP] to get into Download mode. If you don’t agree, STOP.
7. Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot.
8. Hold [VOLUME UP] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] on your phone and then press start on Odin.
9. Wait for the phone to reboot. DO NOT release [VOLUME UP] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] or you may not reboot into TWRP.

Snapdragon Note 9 TWRP installation steps.

1. Make sure you enabled developer settings by pressing the build number several times and have the OEM unlock enabled.

In developer settings, make sure you tick the setting for OEM unlock and accept it once and only once. No need to go further.
Just power down and enter “Download Mode” by pressing bixby, volume down and power
DO NOT REBOOT INTO SYSTEM BEFORE PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING STEPS!!

3. Download the latest Odin version, open it
4. Download the recovery file from the downloads section at the top of the thread and put it into the AP tab
5. Untick “auto reboot” in odin and flash the file
6. After flashing, boot into twrp. Make sure to NOT allow system to be modified until you disable dm-verity! (otherwise your phone will be stuck at bootloop).

It is recommended to flash custom kernel then magisk.

The custom kernel only removes root protections and defex.

7. To disable encryption, you need to flash this zip and format /data (select WIPE then select “Format Data” and type “YES” to verify)
Bugs:
Samsung encryption is not supported.
MTP and ADB does not work right now.
